RAL 010 30 10 — Wood-black red
Dark red with low saturation. In practice this shade reads as red brown rather than as red — the hue is unmistakably red, but there is too little saturation in it for that to dominate.

About RAL 010 30 10
This is where a common mistake is made. If you look for a dark red on screen and end up with this shade, you expect red and get brown. The distinction between a muted red and a true brown lies not in what you see but in where the colour comes from: this shade sits in the red hue, RAL Classic 8012 red brown in the brown one. Side by side the difference is small.
For facades and exterior woodwork that is in fact useful: a red that behaves like an earth colour, without the attention a saturated red demands.
