About RAL 010 40 40

Red pigments have poorer opacity than neutral ones, and at high saturation that tells most strongly. Two batches with exactly the same code can differ visibly when they are built up differently or sprayed differently. That is not a colour deviation but a difference in film thickness, and it is the reason red is rejected in quality control more often than other colours.

On a project using this shade, therefore, set down which standard is used for assessment — the A4 colour samples — and not a colour fan deck chip or an earlier delivery.
