For interior use that means a different choice. A door or furniture front in this shade reads as red under normal interior lighting, whereas a lower saturation at the same lightness level comes across as dark brown. If you still want to see colour in a dark colour, you need to be here or higher.
On large surfaces this shade demands space. Dark red absorbs a lot of light and needs compensation in the lighting; in a small room without daylight it becomes oppressive.
