About RAL 020 50 58

That the maximum lies at lightness 50 and not at 40 distinguishes this hue from 010. A red without a blue cast saturates higher and at a lighter level. The difference is not large but it is there: 58 against 50, and one lightness step higher.

Compare it with the yellow area, where the system runs up to saturation 90. Red reaches that nowhere. That is not a limitation of RAL but of what opaque pigment can do; a more intense red than this does not exist in an opaque finish.

The end value 58 instead of 60 marks that limit exactly.
