About RAL 110 96 02
With saturation 02 this shade also has the lowest saturation found outside the grey axis — the usual lower limit of the system is 05. Two exceptions in one colour.
Why here of all places? Because of all the hues, yellow-green lies closest to white in lightness. The eye is most sensitive in this part of the spectrum, so a colour here looks brightest at equal energy. Anyone wanting to approach the boundary of white with a trace of colour still in it can only do so in this corner.
With a light reflectance value of around ninety per cent this surface returns virtually all the light falling on it — more than any other colour in the system, including the lightest point of the grey axis.
Application: ceilings and walls in rooms where light output must be at its maximum and pure white would be too harsh. At this saturation the colour can only be distinguished from neutral white over a large area, and even then barely.
