Meant for choosing, comparing and sending on — not as a binding reference; the primary standard RAL E1 exists for that. RAL Effect holds 490 colours in seventy families of six solid colours and one metallic each. The collection is based on water-borne paint systems and contains no lead, cadmium or chromates. Within a family, the six solid colours are tuned to one another and to the matching metallic. Anyone having parts made in different materials keeps the whole together by staying within one family. The metallics are available separately as RAL E6 metallic.
