RAL E1 metallic holds the seventy metallic colours of RAL Effect as a primary standard: original paint specimens that serve as a binding reference in colour approval and quality control. A metallic asks for a different kind of assessment than a solid colour. Its appearance depends on the viewing angle, the film thickness and the application method, and for that reason a flat sample alone is not enough. Always judge it at varying angles and, where possible, on a sample in the final finish. Every metallic carries the code of its family with the suffix -M and is tuned to the six solid colours of that same family. It is meant to be used alongside them, not as a replacement for one of the six. The solid colours of RAL Effect are available as RAL E1 uni.
