RAL Classic — blues (RAL 5000 series)
Twenty-five colours, RAL 5000 through 5026. A group with a strong industrial tradition: in Europe, blue is the most used corporate and machine colour after grey.
RAL 5010 gentian blue and RAL 5015 sky blue are the best known. RAL 5005 signal blue and RAL 5017 traffic blue are fixed in signalling and traffic use. RAL 5011 steel blue and RAL 5004 black blue are so dark that in practice they serve as a substitute for black — a detail that often goes wrong when touching up, because the difference from real black only shows in daylight.
At the light end are RAL 5012 light blue, RAL 5024 pastel blue and RAL 5019 capri blue, used mainly in interiors and product design.

More about blues (RAL 5000 series)
Blue is sensitive to the light source you judge it under. Under warm artificial light, blue shifts visibly towards grey or green; what looked right in the workshop can turn out differently outdoors. Judge blue under daylight or standardised light, and preferably compare on a larger surface than a fan deck sample.
